Welcome to Team McAllen Cycling!

Team McAllen Cycling has been in existence for over 25 years. We are here to better our community of South Texas through the sport of cycling. The purpose of the organization is to provide opportunities, promotion and education of recreational and competitive cycling by:

  • Promotion of honest and fair cycling
  • Education of cyclists in the different areas of the sport
  • Encouragement and support of recreational and competitive cycling activities
  • Promotion and practice of safe cycling techniques
  • Encouragement and support of public facilities and programs, including bike paths, bike trails and educational courses
  • Educate motorists about cycling and safety issues

Weekly Team Rides
Weekend Rides: Weekday Rides:

Saturdays
Meeting Place: Burger King - Nolana Loop & 10th
Departure Time: 6:30 a.m.

Distances:
40, 60 and/or 80 miles
Route Description: There are several routes taken on Saturdays, depending on the wind and weather conditions. Usually south on Military 281 towards Progreso and beyond, and North on 107/Montecristo area towards McCook or FM 1015 and back. Ride duration varies.
Pace:
Intermediate A and B, Elite. Fast paced training rides.

Tuesday and Thursday
Meeting Place: City of Granjeno Community Center parking lot
Departure Time: 5:30 p.m.

Distances:
Vary from 6 to 36 miles (1 to 6 laps)
Route Description: Enjoy the long sunny days of spring and summer doing laps around the City of Granjeno Loop. This loop is approx. 6 miles long and you may complete as many as you wish.
Pace: All levels of riders are welcomed

Sundays
Meeting Place: Burger King - Nolana Loop & 10th
Departure Time: 7:00 a.m.

Distances:
42
Route Description: Sunday's usual route is heading towards Anzaldua's Park where we take a rest before continuing on to finish the ride back to Burger King via Bus. 83. Ride duration varies according to pace. Usually 2 to 3 hours.
Pace: Beginner, Intermediate A and B, Elite. Slower paced Sunday rides.

accomodate every type of rider
with every type of schedule!

Safety Tips!
  • Helmets are required on TMC rides
  • All TMC are supported rides but please be well equipped
    • Carry plenty of water, and be sure to drink often during hot weather
    • Carry spare tubes, pump or CO2, and tools
    • Carry an emergency info card
  • Bicycles are legal vehicles on the road, and are required to obey all traffic laws
    • Stop at stop-signs and traffic lights
    • Use hand signals when making turns
    • Ride as far to the right as safely possible; never more than two abreast
    • Go to single-file when necessary; do not obstruct riders
    • Point out hazards such as potholes and gravel
